Montignac

Montignac is the main base for visiting the Lascaux caves. Tickets for the caves can be purchased at Montignac tourist office in the centre of the town. It is an attractive market town with several wooden-balconied houses leaning appealingly over the river, a good market is held on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. A lively annual arts festival is held in mid-July, featuring international folk groups.
Canoe hire is available for half or full day excursions
