Eyrignac Manor and Gardens

The French-style gardens of the
Manoir d'Eyrignac can
be compared to no other, and are considered to be one of the most beautiful
gardens in France. They were created in the 18th century, and were turned ino an
English-style garden in the 19th century, in keeping with the fashions of the
time.
It was only during the 1960s that Gilles Sermadiras de
Pouzols de Lile, wealthy heir of Antoine de Costes de la Calprenède, founder of
the manor, gave these gardens a new lease on life when he searched for
manuscripts and illustrations allowing him to reconstitute the original garden.
