There are two options avalilable, one slightly further and about 10 minutes longer than the other, but easier driving, and the other, shorter and more scenic.

The motorway route is in fact the further of the 2 routes, however if you find motorway driving easier it may be preferable to you.

Continue south along the A20 motorway until you reach the signs for the A89 Bordeaux / Perigueux . Leave the A20 taking the A89 and travel along for 2 junctions. Leave the motorway at the Thenon junction signposted Sarlat. You will find here a toll booth charging €2.90 for the use of the A89.

Once through the toll booth you will find yourselves at a roundabout, take the 3^rd exit, signposted Hautefort, and again after about 200 metres a 2^nd roundabout where you should take the 1^st exit also signed Hautefort.

This takes you onto the D704. Continuing along this road through the village of St Rabier, you will after approx 10 mins reach the village of St Agnan. Once in St Agnan, approx 300metres after the church you will come to a crossroads, where you need to turn right (again signposted Hautefort).

After approx 200metres take the first turn to the left under the old railway bridge (immediately after the car wash) and follow the road round to the left. Les Tachats is the house & barn you can see to your left just after the little bridge.

For the slightly quicker & more scenic route you will need to leave the A20 motorway at junction 36 signposted St Yriex to take the D704. On exiting the motorway up the slip-road stay in the left hand lane and turn right joining the road coming from over the motorway. (It is very easy to stay in the right hand lane to turn right, but this actually goes the wrong way – we have done it several times ! !).

Continue a little way along this road until you reach a roundabout where you take the 3^rd exit signposted Perigueux. Stay on this road (the D704) all the way down to the village of St Agnan. The only complication on this road is passing through the town of St Yriex la Perche, however it is in fact very straight forward, carry on straight ahead at the rounabouts and follow the signs for Perigueux and you will have no problems.

Once you arrive at St Agnan, take the first turning to the left, then again after 200 metres take the first turn to the left where you go under the old railway bridge (immediately after the car wash) and follow the road round to the left. Les Tachats is the house & barn you can see to your left just after the little bridge.
